Activepieces is one of the cheapest ways to automate between Notion and HubSpot, and since August 2026 it is also one of the easiest to misprice. The old model, 10 free active flows and then $5 per flow with unlimited runs, is still what most review sites describe. It is gone. Activepieces Cloud now sells credits, and how many you burn depends on how often your flows run and which AI models they call.

This page covers what the current plans cost, how credits are counted, how that compares to Zapier, and what a real Notion to HubSpot flow bills at.

How Much Does Activepieces Cost?

Activepieces Cloud has four plans:

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyCreditsUsers
Free$0$0Capped allowance, no overage1
Plus$20/mo$16/mo10,000 per monthUp to 5
Team$200/mo$166/mo50,000 per month25 included, then $25/user
UltimateCustomCustomYearly credit poolCustom

Extra credits on Plus and Team cost $0.007 each, so a 10,000 credit top-up runs $70. Free has no overage at all: when the allowance is gone, flows pause until it refreshes. Ultimate adds the governance layer, SSO, role-based access and audit logs, on an annual contract with no public price.

There is also the self-hosted Community Edition, which is free and MIT licensed. You pay for your own server and maintenance instead of credits, which is the right trade for a team with an engineer who wants to run it, and the wrong one for a sales team that wants a working flow by Friday.

The August 2026 Switch From Active Flows to Credits

Until mid-2026, Activepieces Cloud charged by active flow: any flow switched on counted, whether it ran once a month or ten thousand times. You got 10 active flows free, then paid $5 per flow per month, with unlimited runs.

That model rewarded a few busy flows and punished many quiet ones. The credit model reverses it. Now you can build as many flows as you like, and you pay for how much they do.

For a Notion to HubSpot user, the switch cuts both ways. A single flow that runs constantly was nearly free under the old model and now costs credits on every run. A collection of small, occasional flows was $5 each and is now close to free.

How Activepieces Credits Are Counted

Two rules decide your bill.

  1. 1

Every flow run costs one credit

A run is one execution of a flow, from trigger to last step. The steps inside it are free. A flow that finds a HubSpot contact, formats some text, and writes a note costs one credit per run, the same as a flow with a single step.

  2. 2

AI steps cost extra credits on top

Reported rates are 1 credit per AI step when you bring your own API key, 2 for a fast model, 10 for a smart model, and 20 for a frontier model. These sit on top of the run's own credit.

The first rule is what makes Activepieces cheap. The second is what makes it easy to overspend. A flow that summarises every Notion update with a smart model costs 11 credits per run instead of 1.

Activepieces vs Zapier Pricing

Zapier is the comparison most people are making, so here it is side by side. Zapier counts tasks: every action step that runs is a task, and the trigger is free. Activepieces counts runs.

The structural difference matters more than the headline prices. Take a flow that finds the matching HubSpot contact and then writes a note: two actions. On Zapier that is two tasks per run. On Activepieces it is one credit. Every extra step widens the gap, until you add an AI step, which Activepieces bills at up to 20 credits.

Activepieces Pricing for a Notion and HubSpot Flow

Here is the case most people searching for this have in mind. Activepieces lists its Notion piece as included on every plan, including Free, and it has a HubSpot piece alongside it. The Notion piece triggers on a new database item, an updated database item, a new comment, or an updated page, and Activepieces' own Notion and HubSpot pages pair those triggers with HubSpot actions such as adding a note.

A typical build: when a row in your Notion client database is updated, find the HubSpot contact by email, then add a note with the row's content. Two actions, one credit per run.

Assume your team edits about 600 Notion rows a month, the same volume we use in our other pricing comparisons:

SetupMonthly usageActivepieces costZapier cost
Find contact, add note600 credits / 1,200 tasksFits Plus: $16/mo yearly1,500-task tier: $39/mo yearly

3,000 edits with a smart-model summary33,000 credits / 9,000 tasksPlus plus 23,000 extra credits: about $177/mo10,000-task tier: $129/mo yearly

At light volume Activepieces is the cheapest automation option in this comparison by a distance. At heavy volume with AI in the loop, the per-credit overage catches up: $16 of Plus plus $161 of extra credits. At that point Team, at $166 per month billed yearly for 50,000 credits, is the better buy.

Before you build the flow, check

  • How often your rows actually change, because "updated database item" fires on every edit, not once per row.
  • Whether you need an AI step at all, since it is the single biggest multiplier on your credit use.
  • What happens on the second edit to the same row: an "add a note" action adds another note, so you need extra logic to update instead of duplicate.
  • Whether you want a few properties in HubSpot or the whole Notion page, because the flow moves whatever you map into the action, not the page itself.

The third item is the one that surprises people. An automation that writes a HubSpot note every time a Notion row changes leaves a stack of near-identical notes on the record.

What Credit Pricing Cannot Price

Activepieces charges per run because it runs flows. Something happens, a flow fires, data moves. For automation that is a sensible unit, and at $16 a month for 10,000 runs it is a cheap one.

A Notion row is not an event, though. It is a document that keeps changing. The call write-up grows after every meeting, someone adds a bullet under objections, the next step gets bolded. An automation turns each of those edits into a separate run that copies a snapshot into HubSpot. The more your team writes, the more runs you pay for and the more stale copies pile up on the record.

Per-run pricing works when the thing you are moving is an event. A sales note is a living document, so copying it on every edit costs more and helps less each time.

NoteLinker takes the opposite approach. It is a HubSpot card that shows the matching Notion rows on contact and deal records, live from Notion, so what the rep sees is always the current version with its formatting intact. It matches on the email or deal name you already have, so there is no flow to build, and it costs a flat $19 per month, or $16 billed yearly, however much your team writes.

To be fair to Activepieces, it does far more than that. It connects hundreds of apps, runs AI agents, and can create contacts, update deals, and post to Slack in the same flow. If you need a general automation platform, NoteLinker is not one. Plenty of teams run both.

For most automation jobs, Activepieces is excellent value, and its credit model is easier to predict than Zapier's task counts once you know your run volume. The price stops making sense when the job is keeping a living document visible somewhere else. There, every edit is a run you pay for and a duplicate you clean up.
