Yes, you need admin or super admin permissions in HubSpot to authorize the OAuth connection. If you are not an admin, ask your HubSpot account owner to complete the authorization step for you.

Can I use an existing Notion database or do I need to start fresh?

Accepted Answer

You can use any existing database. Just make sure it has the required properties: "Client Email" (email type), "Sync to HubSpot" (checkbox type), and "Notes" (text type for note syncing). You can add these properties to an existing database without losing any data.

What happens if the email does not match a HubSpot contact?

Accepted Answer

If no matching contact exists in HubSpot, NoteLinker will create a new contact with that email address automatically.

Does the Deal Name need to match exactly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Deal Name property in Notion must match the name of an existing deal in HubSpot exactly. If multiple deals share the same name, the most recently created one will be used.
